In this video I’m doing an updated Amex Gold Card review after now having this American Express credit card for 5 years now! The American Express Gold Card has been in my wallet consistently over the past 5 years, but it still has several flaws that are worth noting. I also think that there are a few problems facing the Amex Gold as we head into 2026, so I’ll be going over those problems in this video as well.

For many people, the annual credits and other benefits on the Amex Gold Card can outweigh the annual fee. There’s also some great spending multipliers on this card, like 4x points on dining and 4x points on groceries.

However, an American Express credit card might not always be the best choice for you, so I’ll mention a couple of other good options that you could get instead.
