Are you travelling soon but not sure which credit card to use when spending overseas?

First thing you should note is that spending overseas on a credit card typically means you’ll be “buying” miles.

That’s down to the 3.25% FX spread that banks charge you when transacting in a foreign currency.

As a result, you shouldn’t be accepting less than 4 miles per dollar when spending in a foreign currency - that allows you to buy miles at just over 0.8 cents per mile.
