With a cashback credit card you can earn money while you spend, typically somewhere between 0.25% and 1.25% of the cost of the goods you buy.

While that can soon add up, it only works in your favour if you clear your credit card to zero each month. That way the credit card company is not earning any interest from you and your cashback is then truly free.
