Chase has three main personal cards across their Freedom and Sapphire lineup, and which one is right for you depends on how you spend and how often you travel.
Chase Freedom Unlimited ($0 annual fee): 3% cash back on dining and drugstores, 1.5% everywhere else. A great beginner card with no annual fee and decent multipliers across all your spending.
Chase Sapphire Preferred ($95 annual fee): Most of the same multipliers as the Freedom Unlimited, plus 2x on just about all travel and a $50 annual hotel credit through Chase Travel. The least expensive Chase card that unlocks the ability to transfer your Ultimate Rewards points out to airline and hotel partners like Hyatt, United, and more.
Chase Sapphire Reserve ($795 annual fee): Chase's ultra-premium credit card. Potential to get over $1,000 in value out of the many credits it comes with. For frequent travelers who value lounge access and are willing to track a lot of different credits.
If you're willing to hold more than one card, the Chase Trifecta is the play: Freedom Unlimited for everyday spend, Freedom Flex for quarterly 5% bonus categories, and a Sapphire card to pool all your points together and unlock transfer partners.
